A different kind of loss

We just dropped our daughters off at the airport. This is the kind of 'loss' I dread and hate.
Last night I was drinking a glass of champagne with them to celebrate their upcoming birthdays. Then we went to a bar with a live band and had fun singing and being silly together.
Tonight, I'm looking at untidy bedrooms that indicate that the girls were here, but aren't now. I have no wish to tidy their rooms up tonight, cos that will mean they've really gone.

Here's a photo of us with a little Vietnamese girl who taught us to count to 10.

  2. Sounds like a great send off for them. Hopefully they will be back soon. Have you attempted to convince them of a move? lol

  5. Hi Deb,

Love the pic. Your daughters are beautiful! I'm sorry that they've had to go home... that must be so tough on you! I only see my mum every couple of months (she lives in Victoria, and I live in Queensland), and I know that's hard enough for us, let alone living in a different country! You're all very brave!

Just wanted to say thanks for your lovely comment. You're a lifesaver - I downloaded Firefox and WW website is working brilliantly. I'd forgotten how good firefox is, actually! Thanks for the kind words of encouragement - not sure why my hip is so sore but it feels like a pulled muscle - could have been at work (have been doing lots of direct therapy with the kids lately and it can be tough on the bod!), or could be from exercise! But am still doing some gentle walking and the arm weights are a good idea.

Are you going to get your wedding and engagement rings resized? Mine had to be made a bit larger, I did consider leaving it as it was but my family all have notoriously large fingers and I have to say, even when I was much lighter, my fingers were the same size... so I figure it's a pretty safe bet.

Anyway, hope you're well... have loved reading all about your travels over these holidays, etc!

    Thanks again,

    Kase xx
