I love reading blogs.
I love the cathartic feeling of saying whatever I want on blogs.
I love learning new things from people's blogs.
I particularly love the new friendships I've made through blogging.
So what's up with me??
- Visit to NZ was great, and hard, and lovely, and gut-wrenching. My father has really aged. My mother looks exhausted and terrified of what is to come. Poor things. But Dad is improving daily too.
- My cousin and his wife stayed 3 nights last week. We had a hilarious time showing them around Singapore, but the late nights wore me out
- School is particularly busy this week. And the kids are over-excited about the monkey that has been hanging around for the last few days, and refuses to be caught. I certainly never had that problem in NZ schools!
- We have a group of teachers from Cambodia in our school this week. They are observing us and getting ideas for their schools. In November I will go to their school again to do more teacher training. These teachers are incredibly hard-working, poorly paid and so caring. They only had very scant education themselves, under a tree or in a shack. Even now there are very few books written in their own language for children to learn to read from. From us the teachers are learning how to teach groups rather than always teaching the whole class at once, and how to ask questions, rather than telling their students everything.
- I gained 2.6kg last week due to travel, stress, wine etc. I'm working hard to shift it again this week. I have a Swedish friend here who is also on WW. We are working out together and eating very healthily.

I go through cycles with the blogging, it is so theraputic for me. That 2.6 will go soon enough. Martine x
