I've been AWOL

After a week back home for daughter's graduation then returning to Singapore to a VERY busy work week, I haven't been able to post much here or track properly. I really missed the WW threads and online tracker. Even more, I missed all the people I've connected with through this blog. I haven't fallen off the wagon, but I did climb off it briefly!! Summing up the week:
- jet lag makes you keen to eat anything in sight
- ordering a low fat meal for the flights was a great idea. I enjoyed the meals and felt smug!
- I noticed once again that as soon as I get to NZ I feel like I'm a normal size. That's a sad indication of how people are looking!
- food choices in cafes are horrendous. The cabinets are filled with 'yellow foods' like pies, fat-laden things, HUGE cakes, muffins etc. I wanted green foods like salads but they were harder to find
- my family eats huge portions. Mum put on a roast meal for our family, and I really noticed how huge the portions were. And why does she do mashed potato AND roast potato?
- I got a lot of compliments. I loved the jaws dropping when they first saw me and heard that I'd lost 18kg.
- I was unable to track (I do it all online) and I made smart-ish choices. I had gained a little when I got home, but my WI day is Friday and I think I will have undone most of the damage by then.
- I'm excited to say that while I was off programme for a whole week, I can easily get back into it now that I'm home. I was worried that I might get off the wagon and stay there! I'm actually starting to believe that I have made some permanent life-style changes.

Thank goodness I still have big boobs cos I stuck them out proudly when my daughter got capped!!

  2. Hello Deb
It's great to hear from you again!
Good on you for jumping straight back into the Program!
I'm sure you'll be fine by your Friday weigh-in, if not, well we all have these times in our lives which we need to cope with. It sounds like you've done fine overall!
I hear you about the portion sizes! It's astounding how much people eat these days!
No wonder there are so many health problems, especially amongst the young!
I'm sure you felt proud when you received so many positive comments! You certainly deserve them!
All the very best - Gae oxoxo

  5. Hey Deb,
What a lovely photo! I remember my graduation my mum cried from the time I put on my gown until well after I got off stage, it was a great great day, and I bet your daughter was so pleased to have you there!! and looking so great! xx

Pleased to hear you managed some 'Farmers time'!

Its interesting that you mention the 'yellow' foods. That is something I have noticed that so much lately - chips, pastries, certain bread, cheese, creamy desserts, all fast food - its all yellow! Like its colour coded to mean Full of Fat lol

    Welcome back

    Hope x
