In my very first post on this blog, I wrote about a good friend who came to visit 9 weeks ago. She is a Lifetime member of WW who has maintained her weight. She showed me how to use the crosstrainer, and to programme the stationary bike. Then she gave me a few exercises to do in the pool. She did it all with me for 2 days, then flew home. But she has emailed me a couple of times a week EVERY SINGLE WEEK to check my progress and encourage me. Well, this weekend she came back to see us. I'm 9 kilos lighter than when she was here last time. Every so often she'd say, "Turn around again! Wow! You are looking so different!" She was great for my ego. When she was here 9 weeks ago I showed her a blouse that I want to fit into - but I couldn't even get my arms in the sleeves! Last night I put it on and did it up. I could have worn it, but chose to wait a couple more weeks until it's a little looser. It was great to be able to fit it though.
If I think about all the kilos I need to lose to get to goal, it seems like a far-off, impossible dream. But if I think about how quickly I've changed weight and shape in the nine weeks since I've seen Amy, it feels achievable. I know I'm not going to keep losing at the rate of 1kg per week, but this has been a welcome boost.
Amy came for the weekend to go with us to the Stage show of Chicago. It's the Australian cast. Wow, wow WOW!!!! I would happily go and watch it again tonight, and next weekend too. It was amazing. Great eye candy too with those male dancers. Our 19 year old daughter who is a dancer came with us. At half time she was saying how much she was loving the show, and telling us all about the technical styles the dancers were using. She certainly noticed things that I missed. When I talked about the guys in their tight tights being eye candy she said, "Yeah and did you see how big one guy's _____ are?"
Now you fill in the blank. What would a 19 year old girl say in that gap???
Bugger me, she was describing the size of his muscly ARMS!!!! My friend and I were crying laughing cos we did NOT notice the arms....

that's hilarious, Deb!
