My daughter is visiting my parents and just found this photo, taken in 1977. She put it on Facebook and commented on how little my face has changed. I think she's being too kind!!
I'm the 3rd girl. I was 15. The four of us were taking part in an anti-drug campaign apparently, hence the ridiculous hat thing. (I don't remember it at all!) You would assume that I am the oldest due to my size, but in fact we are all in the same year at school. I know that the 2nd girl was 3 months older than me. I reached that height at 12 years old and had big boobs from then on too. I remember hating the short uniform because it didn't hide enough of my big legs. I also hated the belt, pulling the ugly dress in tight. The jumpers were too tight and revealing, so I bought the cardigan, hoping it would be 'kinder.' I'm sad that I hated my body even then. Now I wish I could be that size again!
I love the photo - and am amazed at the memories it has brought back.

I am a new follower but can I suggest that you have an air of utter confidence in that photo that shines through in this blog too?
ReplyDeleteAs girls we are super sensitive aren't we? I've recently found a photo of myself taken when I was 16 and I was beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI can't ever remember thinking that I was anything else but gawky!
Anyway, it gave me a big lift to see it as I'm sure this photo has done for you.
You still have a pretty face and you're working on become slimmer so soon the real you will be revealed again!
Best wishes - Gae oxoxo
